Krishtika KM Mala

Krishtika Mala is a PhD researcher in the Department of Public Health at the University of Otago. Her doctoral research explores interventions for Group A Streptococcal (GAS) skin infections as a potential strategy to reduce the risk of acute rheumatic fever in populations where both conditions are prevalent and closely linked. Krishtika has previously worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Primary Health Care and General Practice, supporting a pharmacy-based intervention study for knee osteoarthritis, and contributed to mental health research through the Suicide and Mental Health Research Group at the University of Otago. Before joining the University, she was a registered pharmacist with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services in Fiji, delivering care across various levels of hospital pharmacy services, including serving as a supervisory oncology pharmacist.
