I am a physician-scientist with an interest in the genetic determinants that allow Streptococcus pyogenes to successfully infect skin. I obtained my PhD in the lab of Dr. Michael Federle at the University of Illinois Chicago where I worked to elucidate the mechanics of the Rgg2/Rgg3 quorum sensing system. I have continued my scientific inquiries in the lab of Dr. Alexander Horwill at the University of Colorado. I am completing my clinical training in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Children's Hospital Colorado.
